Gradually a balanced diet comprising of whole grains and cereals, fresh fruits and vegetables, legumes, sprouts, and dairy can be emphasized.
  • Drink a glass of carrot juice when there is an urge to drink alcohol. This is a very good home remedy to suppress alcohol urges.
  • Soak 5 seedless black dates in a glass of water for about 3 hours. Drink the water along with the dates twice daily. This is also a good home remedy for alcoholism.
  • Celery juice is also an excellent home remedy for alcoholism. Mix half cup of freshly extracted celery juice with ½ cup water and drink this mixture daily for a period of 30 days.
  • Extract 3 teaspoons of fresh juice from bitter gourd and mix it with a glass of buttermilk. Drinking this mixture daily in the morning on an empty stomach is also considered a good home remedy to treat alcoholism.
  • To give up alcoholism completely, a certain level of understanding is a prerequisite from close ones, friends and relatives. Treat the patient of alcoholism with love and care.
  • Alternative medicine like acupuncture can also help reduce the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal like fatigue and tremors.
