Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder, which results in starvation. Anorexia and bulimia are most commonly seen to occur in adolescent boys and girls. They are obsessed with being thin, even skinny.

Anorexia signs also result in certain complications, such as osteoporosis, low body temperature, demineralization of bones, low body temperature, bulimia nervosa, problem related to normal growth, irregular heartbeat and mineral loss. Anorexia effects include hormonal changes, cardiac problems, disorders in the blood, imbalance in the electrolytes, nerve damage and digestive problems.
Treatment for Anorexia Nervosa
Anorexia recovery is a slow and gradual process. Denial of the presence of a problem is the greatest problem, in anorexics. Treatment of anorexia is slightly difficult, as the individual fails to identify the problem in oneself. Anorexia treatment is easy, in the earlier stages of the disorder. A change should be brought about, in the eating pattern of the individual to improve health. Counseling and family support prove highly beneficial in the treatment of eating disorders. Certain drugs, such as appetite stimulants, anti depressants and anti anxiety agents are highly effective in some individuals. These medications require the guidance of a physician. Home Remedies for Anorexia Nervosa
Certain remedies for anorexia at the home level are as follows:
- Increase the intake of oranges, about two to three, on a daily basis. This in turn increases the appetite of the person.
- A salad comprising of bell pepper, cabbage, cucumber, beets and tomatoes is taken, ten minutes prior to meals.
- Garlic is a great help, as it increases the appetite. Include them in soups, salads and gravies.
- Apple is an excellent appetizer, which improves the appetite.
- Add three cloves to boiling water, with half a teaspoon of lime juice. Cool the same and drink regularly.
- A piece of peeled ginger is made into paste, with a black pepper, asafetida, rock salt and lemon juice.
- Raw tomatoes are good appetizers.
- Increase the spice in your diet, on a regular basis, as this helps to a great extent.
Tips for Anorexia nervosa
Yoga for Anorexia: It is known that anorexics need psychological counseling as a guide to rectify their distorted mindset about themselves and their bodies. Yet, it is a good idea to enhance their psychological and digestive health with the help of yoga asanas (yoga postures). While these yoga poses do not directly play a role in the treatment of anorexia, they are definitely beneficial to improve digestion and help them emotionally to calm their minds.
Sarvangasana or Supported shoulder stand pose, Surya namaskar or Sun salutation, Dhanurasana or bow pose, Shavasana or corpse pose, Trikonasana or triangle pose, spinal twist and Mayurasana or peacock pose could prove beneficial in the treatment of anorexia.
