What Causes Dandruff

Dandruff causes vary from constipation, emotional distress, weakened immunity due to infectious diseases, poor nutrition, use of harsh shampoos, exposure to cold, general health impairment.
All these result in a toxic condition of the system and can result in dandruff.

Dandruff Treatment and Home Remedies

When dandruff occurs, your scalp becomes flaky and falls like scales (which are dead cells of the outer layer of the skin) when scratched. When excess dandruff is present, it can be irritating and associated with bacteria formation on the scalp. Avoid scratching as fingernails can cause scalp damage and infection.

1) The most important step in dandruff control is to keep the scalp and hair clean.
2) Brush your hair daily to improve circulation and remove flakiness. Brush your hair from the nape of the neck to the top of your head with your head bent downwards i.e from the roots to the ends.
3) Massage scalp daily with finger tips. Massaging, like brushing stimulates blood circulation and dislodges dirt and dandruff and encourages hair growth.

If your dandruff is falling as in dry flakes come out when you scratch your scalp, then you have dry dandruff or dry scalp dandruff, if not then you have oily dandruff.
