Home Remedies for Double Pneumonia

Double Pneumonia is a term rarely used today. Medically it is called “bilateral pneumonia”. It means pneumonia which affects both the lungs which get infected.

Double Pnemonia Causes:
When your body resistance is low, your defense system to fight off diseases is weakened. In this situation, you can easily inhale microorganisms from an infected person and they spread into your lungs and air sacs. Your air sacs get filled with fluid and pus. This makes it difficult to supply oxygen to your body and you become sick.

Recovery from your illness depends on various factors such as your age, stage of the disease, how soon after you were diagnosed did you obtain medical attention, whether you adhere to your treatment and take medicines regularly and on time, other related chronic health problems such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and so on.
It may take upto one week after you recover from pneumonia to get back to your normal life, esp if you are a younger person. A middle-aged person may take weeks after recovery to regain strength and wellbeing. It is important to get adequate rest. This helps in complete recovery and also helps avoid relapse. It takes time to recover, hence do not rush your recovery process.

Regular medical care under a doctor’s guidance is necessary once you know that you have pneumonia. It is danger to self treat this condition, especially in older individuals as pneumonia can be fatal. Keep your immune system healthy and in top shape. This is the best defense against pneumonia.

Home remedies for Pneumonia may help to relieve your symptoms and not cure the disease. Sleep and adequate rest along with regular exercise are essential.
Diet for Pneumonia – Eat high protein foods (milk, cheese, beans, pulses and well cooked non vegetarian foods like egg, fish, meat). Drink plenty of fluids esp. water.
