Piles Home Remedies

High pressure on the rectal veins results in piles. Certain techniques which aid in relief from piles are given below:

  • Piles Treatment with Dry Figs: This is the best home remedy for piles. Take 3-4 dry figs, cleanse them thoroughly in hot water and soak them in water overnight. Drink this water along with the figs as soon as you wake up next morning. Repeat this in the evening as well. Follow this piles treatment for 3-4 weeks. Figs have tiny seeds with medicinal properties which stimulate peristalsis. This enables smooth bowel movement and keeps alimentary canal clean. This relieves pressure on anus which contract the hemorrhoids.
  • Piles Treatment with Radish: Mix equal proportion of radish juice with honey. Drink 60-90 ml of this juice with a pinch of salt every morning and evening. Make a paste of radish ground in milk. Apply this mixture topically over inflamed piles to reduce swelling and pain.
  • Piles Treatment with Coconut Oil: Apply coconut oil on the affected area for immediate relief.
  • Piles Treatment with Mango Seeds: Collect mango seeds during mango season. Dry these seeds in a cool, shaded area. Powder them and store for medicinal use. Eat 2 grams of powdered mango seeds by itself or mixed with honey.
  • Piles Treatment with Water therapy: Sit in a tub filled with cold water up to the hips for 2 minutes with knees drawn up to the chin. Cold water shrinks the veins and tones up the walls. Do this twice a day. Apply cold compresses and perineal douches to the rectal region for about an hour before you go to bed at night. It is important to drink at least about 6-8 glasses of water or more everyday.

Tips for Piles
Avoid straining during defecation. Visit the wash room, when there is an urge. Avoid scratching the affected area with any objects. Eat a balanced diet which is high in complex carbohydrates, such as whole grains, fruits, veggies, legumes and pulses. Avoid sitting for long hours, as sedentary activity also contributes to piles. Regular exercise session proves helpful as it increases blood circulation in rectal area.
