Is there anything like a bad food or a good food?


Not really! But there is a guideline to help you understand which foods you should opt for in order to eat right. For arguments sake, let’s say there are wrong foods (or bad foods).

So, What are Bad Foods?

These are those foods which are high fat, high sugar, refined foods (which are stripped off their fiber and nutrients) and high sodium foods. Here are some broad health tips list to give you an idea about Right Foods vs. Wrong Foods.

High Fat foods such as fried chips, nachos For baked varieties of the food, you need to check fat content on the food label. Very often they are high in added fat. If not, you can opt for baked version.
Whole Milk Low fat milk or Fat-free milk
High Sugar Foods

Refined foods like white flour, refined wheat flour

Complex carbohydrates, foods with Fibre (both soluble fiber and insoluble fiber)

Whole grains and whole grain flours like wheat, barley, rye, oats, jowar, maize

Sweetened and Unsweetened Sodas Carbonated water with a dash of lime and honey,

Fresh fruit Juices or 100% fruit juices (Beware of words which say “100% fruit drink” or “100% fruit pulp” which are very high in simple sugars)

Fresh vegetable juices

High fat meats are meat liver, breast, heart and intestine. Red meats like beef and Beans, pulses, fish, lean meat are low fat protein high protein food sources.

When buying boneless meat, make sure you buy the lean portions such as chicken wings or chicken leg portion rather than chicken breast.

Processed foods, Instant foods and Packaged frozen dinners tend to be very high in sodium. Check food labels when eating such foods. Freshly prepared food is high in nutrients, low in sodium.
